Our Story

THE SPIRAL THAT LED ME HERE

I’ve existed somewhere between science and spirit for as long as I can remember.

Drawn to both the clinical understanding of the body and the quieter, more ancient conversations — around ritual, nervous system healing, consciousness, emotion, and the way life itself moves through us.

Hola, I’m Jess. A Mama, Nurse, and Integrative Health Practitioner — fascinated by the body, the mind, energy, human behaviour, and the invisible layers of what it actually means to heal.

My journey into wellness began long before I had words for any of it.

As a child, I was always outside barefoot, making little potions from crushed flowers, leaves, seed pods— whatever I could find in the garden. I was fascinated by scent, by nature, and the feeling that there was something alive beneath the surface of things. Something unseen.

That curiosity never left me.

After school, I travelled, studied Interior Design, explored different versions of myself, yet there was always this deeper pull sitting quietly underneath it all. I remember saying to my mum, “I don't just want to know what medication someone needs. I want to understand why people are actually sick..”

That question changed the trajectory of my life.

"I want to understand why people are actually sick — not just how to treat it."

— Jess, before nursing school

I went on to study Public Health, majoring in Nutrition and Health Promotion. It gave me a strong foundation, but something still felt incomplete. Population health mattered deeply, but I found myself wanting to understand the individual — the person beneath the diagnosis, the story beneath the symptoms.

Despite feeling deeply drawn toward natural medicine, I became a Registered Nurse, following a long line of practitioners in my family. And while nursing gave me invaluable experience and a profound respect for acute care, there was a quiet discomfort that followed me through my training and into the hospital system.

I saw people returning again and again. Their symptoms louder. Their bodies exhausted. Yet so often the focus remained on suppression rather than understanding. More medications. More disconnection. Very little conversation around why the body may have fallen out of balance in the first place.

It didn’t feel like true healing to me.

"The greatest gift of my education wasn't the answers it gave me. It was the questions it taught me to ask."

— Jess

If I spiral back the real turning point came after my son was born.

His tiny body became completely covered in eczema, and I found myself trapped in a cycle so many parents know well — steroid creams, temporary relief, symptom management. But deep down, something in me knew his body wasn’t failing him. It was communicating.

So I stopped outsourcing the answers.

I researched obsessively. I learned about inflammation, intolerances, gut health, the nervous system, the way the body responds when it’s overwhelmed or unsupported. I changed his diet, removed the foods triggering his inflammation, and within weeks, his skin began to clear.

That experience cracked something open in me.

I realised then that the body is incredibly intelligent. Symptoms are not random inconveniences to silence. They are messages, invitations and signals asking us to pay attention.

From that point on, I became devoted to understanding the body on a deeper level. I immersed myself in Integrative Health, Functional Medicine, nervous system regulation, detoxification pathways, energetics, quantum healing philosophies, and the intricate relationship between emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.

"Möxche came through after a deeply transformative trip to Mexico. The name itself means tree root."

— On the name

But over time, I also came to understand that wellness extends far beyond the physical body alone.

It’s the environment you live in. The relationships you stay in, it’s the stress you carry. Even the products you use everyday in your home. Those endless thoughts looping through your mind.

The way your nervous system holds your life experiences inside the body.

We are not separate from any of it.

Some of the deepest shifts in my life didn’t happen inside textbooks or clinics. They happened through travel. Through heartbreak. Through burnout. Through ceremony in Mexico. Through wandering the streets of India. Through moments that stripped everything back and reminded me that healing was never meant to feel so disconnected from being human.

Möxche came through after a deeply transformative time in Mexico. There was a remembrance I felt there that I still struggle to fully explain. Something ancient yet so familiar. A returning.

The name itself means “tree root,” and the moment it arrived, I knew it was meant to stay.

TIME SPENT IN MEXICO & INDIA DEEPLY SHAPED THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND MÖXCHE

To me, Möxche represents returning to the root of things. Returning to the body. Returning to ritual. Returning to the understanding that healing is not about perfection, but about creating the conditions for the body to come back into harmony.

Everything I create is an extension of that philosophy.

I’ve dry brushed since I was a teenager, but as my understanding of the body deepened, I became fascinated by the lymphatic system and the importance of movement, touch, circulation, and energetic flow. That curiosity eventually led me to copper — a powerful conductor that felt symbolic of the very thing I wanted to create: movement.

And then came amber.

I had used crystal gua sha tools for years, but they always felt cold to me. Beautiful, but cold. I wanted something with warmth. Something alive. Amber carries a completely different energy. As fossilised tree resin, it holds history, earth, warmth, and a quiet grounding presence that I felt immediately connected to.

Möxche was never created simply as a product line.

It was created as a return. To the remembering that healing is both science and something far more ancient at the same time.

In many ways, Möxche is still unfolding alongside me and maybe that’s the beauty of it.
